Our renowned vineyard features eleven benchland and hillside blocks of Cabernet. To spotlight this diversity, we craft small-production Cabernets from our finest blocks. This limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the crown jewel of our estate—2.5 acres of Cabernet vines planted in the 1980s. Planted in silty soils on a gravel bed to the famed Belle Terra field selection, our prized Block Twelve always yields some of our most complex and compelling Cabernet.
Tasting Notes
Splendidly intricate and inviting, our Block Twelve Cabernet Sauvignon offers classic layers of crème de cassis, blackberry, violets, and licorice. Though bold and powerful on the palate, fine-grained tannins add a pleasant freshness and textural elegance to the luscious flavors. The finish is long and satisfying with nuanced hints of leather and graphite mingling with dark berry fruit.
